Well this only took me forever to make.
Originally I was making this piece for my brother and my sister-in-law's wedding. Their wedding was in May and I just now finished it. Whoops. My sister-in-law was actually one of my missionary companions when I went on a mission to Colorado, so I chose one of the pictures she took while she was there. I think this is some mountain in Aspen, but I'm not really sure.
The biggest challenge for me on this picture was trying to get the fall colors in and to get the dead aspen trees to look right. I usually do lots of vibrant green summer pictures, so changing up my normal color scheme was a different thing for me. I kind of like it, though, because it sort of reminds me of the time in early spring where the snows are just beginning to melt.
