Page two out of 13 complete!
Ok, just a few comments for the first panel.
1. Man, Urahara's hair is foofy!
2. Chad is annoying to draw... Especially when the reference pic is pixelated.
3. Rukia is short. Like, I had to make her taller to fit in the panel.
4. It is really hard to draw Rukia's hair when it and everything around it is black.
5. Inoue looks like she's deeply contemplating something. We finally decided that she is looking at her stepped-on foot. It's the only thing that wouldn't be overly weird for her to be contemplating.
6. I had originally wanted a large CREAK over the door, but no matter what I did, it just looked dumb.
Most of these panels would be better if I didn't have to also cram in speech bubbles into those itty-bitty panels.
The last panel was a pain for a long time. We wanted to have a nice back view of Rukia. We couldn't find a good reference pic for a back view of Rukia. So we grabbed one that was a side view of Rukia jumping off of Ichigo's head in the first episode that looked like her going down stairs. You may notice that the picture is a nice back view of Rukia. How, you ask? After failing at drawing off of the reference pic over and over and over again, I quickly sketched what I had originally planned in the first place. It turned out better than anything I had done with the reference pics, so I inked it and called it good.
The funny thing about that last panel other than the fact that it has no reference pics is this: when I first drew the shiny part of Rukia's hair, the rest of her hair wasn't colored in. So it looked like a happy face! I couldn't resist and drew in eyes before shading over it. Bwahahaha!!!!!

Woo! Well, you didn't surprise Darcy, but it was a nice surprise for me. ^^ I'm so excited to see more of these!
