This is Etho.

For those of you who know the difference, kudos to you. For everyone else, let me explain the difference. Etho is a youtuber who plays minecraft and uploads Lets Play videos. His minecraft skin is based off of Kakashi. So he looks like Kakashi, but isn't.

Now that I've cleared that up, I can begin my actual commentary.

I've been wanting to do fanart for the mindcrack people for a while. There are two main people I'm subscribed to on the youtubes and that's VintageBeef and Etho. (team Beetho for the win!)

I originally wanted to do a picture of Etho trying to get an anvil kill on the B-team while they vandalized Beef's castle. I actually drew that in my original sketch, which is why Etho is in a crouching position. Unfortunately, in order to get the shot I wanted, I would have to pan out the camera and bring the pic into a portrait view, and because I put a lot of detail into Etho, making him smaller to zoom out properly wasn't really working. I didn't want to take the focus away from Etho. So as amusing as the anvil kill deal is, I had to come up with something else.

Etho is known for doing tons of complicated redstone stuff. That's actually part of the reason I watch his videos. I'm not half bad with redstone but never know how to use it for anything practical, so it's interesting seeing what Etho does with it. I wanted to make a complicated redstone machine around him for this picture, but unfortunately, I ran out of room to do anything too complicated and most of the stuff would be half hidden anyway, so I couldn't fit in repeaters or anything. In the end, I went for something simple and completely useless. A redstone torch powering a block that sends power to a piston. Randomly. Hey, maybe the machine isn't done yet. I mean, clearly he just placed the redstone dust there, maybe he hasn't wired up anything yet.

Anyway, I probably won't do a whole ton of Minecraft Mindcrack fanart, mostly because the majority of the ideas I come up with are already done, and there are a lot better artists that are drawing these people. I figured I'd at least put in my two cents, and it's not like I'm a terrible artist either. Plus, I still need the practice with digital art. In any case, I made art I hope you likez it.

By the way, drawing blocks are hard for me. There's something about geometric shapes that makes me fail at drawing them. Curses, minecraft, must you be comprised of nothing but blocks?
