Girl Genius

I forgot to post this. I finished this a while ago.

I was reading one of the online comics I tend to read called Girl Genius" (It's pretty good. You should read it. Steampunk and stuff. Yeah.) When I got the very random urge to draw fanart. So I did.

This is the main character, Agatha. I was remembering that earlier in the comic she went on a rant about how every good scientist should have a death ray. Then I was thinking about my previous designs for a Mr. Blasto Raygun. Since my last design was done my Freshman year, I decided it was time to give it an upgrade. This new rendition has pretty much the same stuff my previous gun had, (I'm not even sure if I posted the original design on deviantart. If I did, it's probably in my scraps section buried under 50 million bleach doodles.) but I made the gun way bigger and added an extra copper coil, magazine tray, low/high knobber, and a funny dooliwop bobby thing on the back. I also changed the colors (though my original design only had color in my head) the original gun was going to be yellow with pink trim and green glowy things. I decided that these colors fitted my personal tastes better.

Wow. Did I really just spen that long talking about the Ray gun? Anyway, I used my basic wireframe to make this, and the only thing that really isn't "my style" of drawing cartoons is the way Agatha's hair sticks up in back and the shineys I put in her hair. I was going to make her coat more steam punky and cool, but I have never designed anything for steam punk before and wasn't sure how to go about doing it, so what you get is what you get. Her costume is basically a combination of several of the outfits I've seen her wear in the comic, but I wasn't exactly using any reference pics for it.

See that blob in her hand that's supposed to be a screwdriver. See, that's where I screwed up. Haha, punny.
