Well, I kind of failed the last time I tried to draw this friend. It's not often that I randomly decide to draw my friends, and I was kind of upset that the one time I tried, it failed. So I decided to retry. Lucky for me, he had more pictures on facebook by the time that I decided to retry, so I was able to find one that doesn't have a bizzare expression on his face. I don't think he knew his picture was being taken.

Anyhoo, this one turned out much, much better in my opinion. Probably because it's not so close to the face and also because his eyes are looking down so I didn't have to really draw them. The guitar turned out a little weird, mostly because of the angle it is to the camera, and also because I think the flash on the camera lit up certain parts of it, because their shadows were really weird. Plus it was a nicely polished, shiny wood, and I have difficulties drawing anything shiny. I didn't do too bad, considering, but it still could have been better. The neck of the guitar was evil.

I apologise, I meant to make this pic a completely line-less drawing, but his right hand kept blending in with the wood of his guitar which is never a good thing. I also meant to do something with the background, but gave up.

Whoever invented cargo shorts must of hated artists. They go under my list of "Things nearly impossible to draw properly." Thus the vague shadowy blob that got cut off at the bottom. His legs were also being weird, so I decided to conveniently not draw them. =D

Anyway, yeah. Guitar.

Do you know what I like most about this pic? The contrast. The darks are really dark. The lights are really light, and you can see where things are supposed to be and go. It's a good composition, and a well done study as well. Nice job, hon.
