Description

My most recent obsession has been the new game Undertale. One of my favorite things about the game is the fact that the ending changes depending on your actions within the game, whether you kill no one, some people, or kill everyone. Pacifist, nuetral, or genocide. And possibly the most in-depth character is Sans the Skeleton who acts pretty laid back and jokes with you all the time and yet seems to hold the most amount of secrets. (Many of which aren't even explained in the game, the player is left to wonder.) In both the Pacifist route and the Nuetral route, Sans is like your best friend: occasionally showing up throughout your journey, offering you tips and hotdogs, making bad puns, the like. But in the Genocide route, the one where you're playing the mass-murdering villain, Sans is actually the final boss. And he is no joke. And despite dying to him time and time again, I still find myself rooting for him. Possibly the only boss battle in existence where I'm actually happy every time I die because it means that Sans won.

Anyway, this is my rendition of that boss battle. I probably could have added more bones being thrown at the player, but I didn't want to clutter the drawing too much.

Some artistic notes, this is the first time I've done a drawing using nothing but photoshop. Usually for my digital art, I draw it out on paper first and then scan it in and use photoshop only as a coloring tool, so this was the first time I started drawing it in photoshop. It was a bit more difficult, even with my drawing tablet, but I think it turned out well anyway. I've also never really done lighting quite like this, so it's not perfect, I know. I think the most fun thing for me to draw (and by fun I mean irritating) was the gothic arches. Yeah, the background stuff that you can only barely see because of the lighting. XD Oh well. I know what my line work looks like and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

Get dunked on!
